There have been a few comparisons of cities pre- and post-war circulating around the internet. Although the harsh truth is that war, and especially human beings can cause great damage, it's a smidge comforting to know that there were times when it was not so bad. Orderly was the "new normal", and traffic was probably not so hectic. That time when essential businesses should have been uprooted, and a system put in place to make the country wealthy from oil production.
